I partecipated to the International Photography Awards with some photos from Antarctica, The palaces of the soul, and Demons portfolios. All of them passed through the first of three rounds in the
jurying process and are now an Official Selection of the 2009 International Photography Awards.
The Antarctica photos also passed the second round, becoming an Honorable Mention and are eligible to compete for the third and final round to determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.
One of the picture of the series Places of the soul has been selected during the competition prize of creative quality in professional photography, organized by Tau Visual.
The photo will be published on the catalog of the prize.
A series of five photos from Antarctica, with the title The silence of the ice, have won the first place of the category Nature non-pro, section landscape, of the Prix de la Photographie Paris (Px3).
Some minutes ago I received a mail saying that the jury has selected this series also as the major Nature category winner in the 2008 Px3 competition.
On the Px3 site is available the complete list of 2008 winners and people’s choice voting is now open.
The two pictures that has entered the short list of the WPA are online on the site of the contest.
For the nature category the photography selected is Rain at Cabo Negro, from the Antarctic portfolio, while for the portraiture category is The beggar (also known as Gypsy Madonna).
Yesterday I received an e-mail with a really good news. A photo from the Antarctica series, that a few months ago I’ve sent to the Sony World Photography Awards, has been rated amongst the top ten photographers by the World Photographic Academy. On April 14 they will communicate the three finalists names.
A few minutes after I received a second mail: another photo that I sent for the portraits category has also been selected among the top ten photography. This is a great news!
